Figure 4-23 depicts a CDM-700 1:1 modem configuration with installation of one KT/12585 OC-3

Single-Mode Interface Kit in Slot 1(only) and Slot 2 empty.

Multi-Mode configurations use the KT/12584 OC-3 Multi-Mode Interface kit. Mode configuration

is easily distinguished by the color of the cables included in the kit; for Single-Mode configurations,

yellow cabling is used as shown in Figure 4-23, whereas a Multi-Mode configuration (not shown)

features orange cabling.
